In the past month, I've gotten a few complaints from users trying to print a basic report (letter size) on their inkjet printers. The reports are set up to use letter size paper, and print fine on our laser printers, which are most commonly used. But a few users have various HP inkjet models. When these users try to print, they get a "detail band is too large" error, and the report doesn't print. I looked at the reports, and the detail band seems to be fine for the standard letter size page, but got the same error when I tried it on an inkjet connected to my printer. The only workable solution I have found at this point is to set the paper size to A4 (maybe others would work, but I tried this and it works fine). I can't make this the default setting though, because our "intelligent" laser printers need a confirmation that A4 isn't actually in the paper tray, and to go ahead and use letter size paper anyway. On the other hand, I feel stupid telling the users to choose A4 for their paper size. Since letter obviously works in applications like Word, they invariably ask what the deal is. The only excuse I have is well, ummm, it has something to do with our programming software...

Has anyone noticed similar quirky behavior when printing to cheap desktop printers? I'm hoping its something that I'm doing, not an actual problem with FoxPro's printing capabilities...
