Your project might be using a project hook?

On the other hand, you can make a small program to compile, which includes the CLEAR ALL and CLOSE ALL.

I use such a program, but that is because in addition to compiling, I need to do some additional stuff, like rename to the next version number (e.g. MyApp_0610.exe), distribute to the server, and update a few other files, like help files and release notes - so I do all at once, with a single program.
