Also, next week a new Channel 9 (http://channel9.msdn.com) video is schedule to go online which will be a 30 minute interview of me in my office by Robert Scoble. Most of the interview is some demos we will show in the DevCon keynote Sunday night like VFP/VS2005/.NET interop with VFP 9.0, some new prototypes for Sedna, and VFP doing some things with Avalon/XAML. It will focus on what you can to today with VFP 9.0 and also preview of what things we want to do more and better via Sedna. BTW, Cathi Gero recently consulted for Microsoft in helping put together the .NET/VFP interop demos which you will see in the Channel 9 video. She has recently spoken at many VSLive and other .NET conferences, and she has posted some of her latest materials at http://prenia.com/Downloads.htm in case you or others are interested. I look forward to your feedback (and others) once the new upcoming Channel 9 demo video is online.

>Never mind, I think Cathi Gero has already answered my question sufficiently...

>>OK, so I can use an XMLAdapters methods loadxml and toxml to pass XML strings back and forth between VFP and .NET and have it reconstituted as a dataset on either end for use in databinding on either end? If you say yes, I'll go explore this right now... I haven't ever tried this. In fact I wasn't entirely sure it was possible, some time ago I read an artcile by Rick Strahl on it (where he said there were compatibility issues), but that was for sure before the XMLAdapter class showed up.

>>>No, you will need to convert an XML file to a VFP cursor or table via XMLAdapter and then databind to the cursor, just like in VFP 9.0 today. The XML to/from the XMLAdapter in VFP is fully compatible with ADO.NET (for ASP.NET, .NET WinForms, Avalon, etc.).
