It does seem that the job market for VFP is (gradually) declining, so it would be useful to learn something else. That is why I enrolled in a .NET course recently.
Here are some ideas:
See if there are similar courses in your city.
Get the software - either Visual Studio, or the freeware program - I think it was called WebMatrix, so that you can start practicing.
Enroll in one or more forums for .NET.
Read part, or all, of the book ".NET for VFP developers" - available for free online.
Perhaps, see if you can eventually get a certification exam: investigate what the requirements are, and start studying for it.
