I'd say yes. No Unicode for us...
The problem is that fixing VFP for Unicode would be a huge job because EVERYTHING in VFP is based on ANSI strings.
This is one of the major shortcomings of VFP and a big hurdle for interop scenarios as well. i just ran into antoher problem with this just a few days ago where VFP simply cannot deal with nText data retrieved from SQL Server properly...
You can work around some of this stuff, but it's PITA... <g>
