OK, Gil....think I understand now.

On that OE grid in Taz, the column has Sparse=.T. property set with a Combobox for entry and textbox for display. The combobox read from an items file with a control source of the items key value in order_lines. In the InteractiveChange method of the combobox, price information is REPLACED in order_lines with that of the selected item. Extended price is recalculated and also REPLACED. The grid is then refreshed.

Maybe you were missing some event code or something?
