>What is VFP to you? How would you categorize it?

My life, I guess. <g> I started developing applications for friends with dBase II on a Kaypro CP/M computer 17-18 years ago, which led into my career as a programmer. Once I migrated from dBASE III to FoxBase+, I never looked back. Unfortunately, I never made the transition from FP/DOS to Windows until VFP5 -- so the learning curve is horrific. I still have many clients using FP/DOS as their computers simply won't handles Win95. I notice others in the UT referring to small business as <500 people -- around here that would be a HUGE business. <g>

My main goals as a programmer are to (a) allow clients to work with the computer in a way familiar to them (i.e., computerize their paperwork) and (b) make it easy for anyone to use without the need for manuals, big help files, etc. (User friendly?) VFP with it's awsome form generation ability makes my work a whole lot easier. (once I figure out how to make it all work. <g>) Frankly, I haven't even looked at other products, as there's little incentive to do so.
