good thought on the ReadWrite, but after I responded to your solution, I recalled what you had written about experiencing the same problem with modal forms (the grid with the cursor file displays in another form called from the parent when editing PO Items). I changed the windowsType to modeless from modal and it worked!! Right again (I marked you first response as a solution to the problem)

Now I am left with the windowsType problem. The form really needs to be modal. Any further ideas? you are on a roll
