I've found that MapBasic has a "SymbolPicker()" function, that has a combo of all the arsenals, and drops down all the ammo for each, allowing you to select one. So I've decided to do it from within my MapBasic app. I was hoping that it could be done in VFP cos the MB i/f, debugger, editor, etc suck!
