Hello all, thanks SO much for sending along your help...whew! a lot of hours later we sat down and compared the "converted" VFP 9.0 report form file and the original 2.6 form file and saw the following difference:

The record with:
Objtype = 9
ObjCode = 4
in the 2.6 file had HEIGHT = 42500.000.

The VFP 9.0 conversion set that value to (something like) 41700.000. We changed the value to 42500.000.

We also cleared the printer settings (that WERE the Epson printer) so that only the following were left in the Expr field of the first record:
ORIENTATION=0
PAPERSIZE=174
COLOR=1

But we ALSO changed the form definition in the PRINT SERVER properties to be 4.26" high (rather than the previous value of 4.25").

The real check print happens tomorrow....thanks again, all, for your input...J

>>Hi,
>>
>>I'm doing an upgrade from a FPW 2.6a system and am trying to print checks on an EPSON DFX-8500 (using an EPSON FX-1050 driver, which Epson says is required to print non-standard forms).
>>
>>When printing in 2.6a, the text is printed in the same place on the form consistently.
>>
>>In VFP 9.00, the printout 'drifts', i.e., it moves up higher and higher on each page.
>>
>>We've defined the forms as 8.5" x 4.25" as in the old system.
>>
>>I'm running w/Report Engine Behavior set to "80 (Backward compatible)" (set both in the TOOLS, OPTIONS menu and set explicitly in my start up code).
>>
>>I've started over w/the report and used the 2.6 FRX and i still see the same problem.
>>
>>I'm getting desperate! any help/input is appreciated!
