Any comments on the Apple use of Intel chip? I think it can be huge, depending on how they do it.

1) Apple allows all PCs to become double boot machines. They would ideally be able to access data files from the PC partitions while running programs in the Apple partition. Perhaps require a dongle on PCs to do the job of the special chip that is supposed to provide part of the functionality and prevent piracy? I'd install it on a few of my machines in a heartbeat.

2) Apple takes over the living room by becoming the ultimate MultiMedia PC. Very friendly interface.

3) There may be a big time opportunity for products that become multiplatform including some that were being hit hard by MS products in Windows. For example Delphi/Kylix. I'm guessing that MS will *not* port its applications to MacTel.

4) Open source products get ported to MacTel. Double special since they would be multi platform.

5) How would Apple on Intel affect MS's bet-the-company strategy of .NET?

6) Apple does have to wheather the Osborne effect, but I think they will do it with no problem. The potential is just too big.

I think I'll buy some Apple stock. How has it been doing?
