Gestionnaire de rapports & Rapports
>My suggestion is to save the image in a TIFF, JPG, or other format that VFP supports (not PDF). Store the image on the hard drive ... not in a VFP table. In the VFP table, create a field that stores the path+name of the image file. When you need to print an image on the report, you can place an image control on the report and just list the field name as the source.

Cathy,
Thanks for the insight and the quick reply. You are helping me narrow down the plan. File system for storing images and VFP reports for printing -- good plan. Do you have any ideas about how to display the images on the screen. Be aware that these are personnel documents which we have scanned or which come from a FRX to TIFF product like Minds Eye or VFP 9. We also want a solution for viewing the images. Would you recommend print preview for this? We were thinking of making an integrated system that lets one operator acquire images with a scanner. These would be put into a pending directory and a pending table for integration into the main table of pointers to images. Because Kodak/Wang image control also has a scanner control function, I was attracted to this. But maybe we should not try to integrate the scanning task and work with just one technology and do the preview from Fox or Minds Eye for the operators who need to review the documents about a retiree, for example? Any ideas? Does VFP 9 give me anything that would help with these problems -- aside from TIFF generation?
