Thanks for your reply.

If my code was in the user control to populate countrols and save data in controls , there would not be an issue.

The problem is that I'm in the page code behind calling a business object method that needs to bind controls on a variaty of user controls. Also the page code behind has the SaveDataSet logic where I need those same controls to bind back to the dataset before the data is sent to be updated.

I'm sure Kevin has some method or statechange event that will hopefully do this, I just need for someone to say 'Hey go read this section in the help file'.
