XP Home is a support nightmare in a networked environment, there is always something playing up.

>There is one little piece of info I forgot to mention -- Installing WinXP Home on the "clone" drive (i.e. start from scratch) will work fine. It's just that it doesn't seem to want to boot if cloned. I'm suspecting that the copy-protection of WinXP Home is pickier than WinXP Professional. BTW, it's not really my choice to be dealing with WinXP Home -- I was basically tasked with getting some new workstations connected to our network (they opted to buy WinXP Home instead of WinXP Pro -- despite my recommendation *not* to). Trying to connect to the Novell server was a head-scratcher. Although the Novell client is indeed listed and can be selected during network setup, it fails to load during reboot with a rather ambiguous error message "missing driver" (As far as I can tell, it's basically saying "Dude, you just selected an unsupported driver"). Finally got around that problem by installing the Netware client downloaded from the Novell site.
