Sorry for repeating myself guys, I rambled to myself until I figured this one out last week, I thought I'd just repost the final problem.

I spent a day fighting with remote views to realise that a basetable with a fieldname of 'value' causes odbc to throwup a syntax error when updating that field. Shouldn't this issue be documented?

If anyone knows why or any other field names that cause odbc to fail like this, please say.
