Okay, I now get the picture. When looking at my own apps, sometimes an ESC and Cancel button have to be confirmed, especcially when it is large text input, like in MS Word. Other times it immediately closes the form without saving anything, especcially dialogs. In your case the form isn't even closed. It indicates a certain type of data entry where the users think of a confirmation as overdone.
