>We charge $65 per year. Our year just started in June. Irregular attendees can pay $10 per meeting -- first meeting free. We have been successful in maintaining our cohesion because we never skip any meetings and we have a good area to draw from. Sometimes speakers volunteer out of the blue because we are in one of the crossroads cities of America. Chicago is home to lots of national organizations and corporate headquarters. We have kept our meeting place in the downtown area and our meeting time at the end of the work day. That way we make it convenient for people who want to attend before heading home. Of course we also draw on programmers who work in the suburbs or even further away. One of our members is Rick Borup who sometimes comes in from Champaign.
