These are the practicalities for most of us. The move to so-and-so language or you are doomed is just marketing to sell you things that you don't require. If you buy it you will then want your clients to upgrade their operating systems. If they upgrade their OS then they have to buy new hardware. We will still be earning those measly amounts as the client will say I have invested in so-and-so hardware and OS and now I have little left to give you for your development. Thus the circle goes on, not for us though.
