I looked at the VFP Help and It does not does not say this - this is expected return value for GetFldState when the record pointer is at EOF. But I can see that this is true any way. I did not want to change the code, but I did, so that if EOF() the program ignores the table, just like it does if the table is not buffered.

This makes sense because you can not have a "field state" when the pointer is at eof. So revise your code to handle a NULL return value using the ISNULL() function. Or you could just not check for feild state if the pointer is at eof.
