I really like Delphi (cut my teeth on Pascal) but it is my understanding that Kylix is dead or dying. But Delphi is also moving to DotNet so I'm guessing if DotNet succeeds so will Delphi. There is a free version of 'Object Pascal' that runs on Linux. I really don't know much about it (I might be wrong about the name) and I think they are using the Eclipse environment for development.....
