Unfortunately the SQL text search is really managed akwardly. I have developed a dictionary/index utility to handle this kind of situations (since a lot of hosted solutions do not install full text search with their SQL). Let me know if interested, ok? You might need to make minor mods to this set of tables and procs to make it work, but it has worked for us.
