In case you didn't catch the drift, I was "putting on" the accent, to sound like the famous Monty Python sketch where the old guys in tuxedos, smoking cigars, are trying to outdo each other in recounting the hardships they endured "as a lad", sort of Lancashire/Yorkshire. You must have seen it - esp. in "The Secret Policeman's Ball". ANyway, that's what the "war stories" in this thread reminded me of! :-)
Seaford, btw, is on the South coast c. 12 miles from Brighton. I'm from Liverpool.

I'm sure we'd luike to have you back! I WAS enjoying the summer till we got rain today and, true to English summertime, as June fades out and July comes in, the summer's ending.
