Last weekend my daughter and I went down to Luling for the Watermelon Thump, saw a guy devour 1/4 of a melon in about 45 seconds and someone else spit a seed 42 feet (which was well under the world record of 68' 9 1/8", the world record holder had a terrible 2 spits this past weekend). We also thought it funny that the watermelon eating contest was sponsored by a local dental practice.
