>Sorry for interrupting. There is one problem with this approach. When you SELECT from View, VFP tends to go to actual tables, i.e. if user changed view records but didn't issue Tableupdate() yet, then newly selected_from_view recordset will not contain the last changes.

True. When I have done this, I do not append from modified data... I couldn't see why I would want to change data and then read the changed data into another file. I
can easily see why I would have a view to get a set of records and then send them off to another table...
