>In conclusion, it seems that the Bush administration has had its eye on Iraq since the beginning, before the attacks and that no amount of truth and no rising body count is going to sway them from their plans.

I'm glad to see that US public opinion is changing. The Bush administration is frighteningly good at spin. Outside of the CNN/Fox bubble, much of what you are saying was apparent, thus the decision of most of the world not to go to (this) war. I'm glad though that in the case of Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia... that the world can unite and do the difficult, but right thing.

As well, if Bush would have kept to the facts...
- ethnic cleansing of kurds
- suppressing the Shia
- warring with neighbours such as Kuwait and Iran
- violating UN resolutions
- human rights abuses
- threatening the world oil supply

that the rest of the world would have eventually pitched in militarily to topple him. But unfortunately, a stable oil supply wasn't Bush's only goal. It is clear now that they needed a logistical base in which to project power militarily in the region. Looking at the Afghan operation there were tons of logistical issues, flight path issues etc.

I think bush will not been viewed well historically. Which makes me think, who was the last great president? Kennedy?
