Hi Malcolm,

I've been rather annoyed with the fact that VFPs menus and toolbars don't support themes very well. It's been an issue with me for too long. If a guy like Alex can make it happen, I don't know why the VFP team can't. This is the type of stuff that many end users notice and make first impressions about your product. VFP should have this feature built in right out of the box.

I guess I shouldn't complain too much. VS2003.NET had the cool new IDE. "Flyout" menus, flat, etc. The BIG problem is that you can't do this stuff in your app without "reinventing the wheel". Talk about a tease! You needed to purchase expensive addons to make those cool new GUIs in your product.

Oh...wait, I guess I should continue to complain. I've heard VS2005 addresses these issues. Now its up to the VFP team to do the same with VFP.

Regards,

Mike

>Alex Grigorjev has a product called CommandBars that allows you to create Office 2000, XP, 2003, and VS Studio 2005 style menus and toolbars. I love this product! This product allows you to create the SAME professional style menu and toolbar interfaces as Microsoft or anyone using .NET with 3rd party menu/toolbar components. CommandBars adds 245K to your project and does this via 2 VCX class libraries - NO ACTIVEX components to distribute!!!
