Chris,

See if Re: 2GB limit Message #274124 helps.
BTW, this bug has been fixed in VFP9 (or maybe even VFP8). VFP generates an error and table doesn't became corrupted when it riches 2GB limit.

>I'm was getting ready to test some code that creates a table called mp2.dbf when mp1.dbf reaches the foxpro limits. (2gigs, 1 billion records, etc) In order to test this code I had to make mp1.dbf a very large table. So I wrote a simple for loop that inserted a whole bunch of records into MP1.dbf. I went overboard and mp1.dbf actuallly became 2 gigs. At that point, my little insert program failed. When I tried to open the table afterwards I got the "Not a table" error. Using this website, http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~NotATable~VFP, So far I have tried the following:
>
>- The HexEdit program that comes with VFP 6 - this produces the error "Error: File has zero length. Cannot edit."
>- I tried running the RepairHeader program in the above link. It did not work.
>- I tried opening the table in FoxPro 7, that did not work. I still received the "Not a table" error
>- I downloaded the "FoxFix 5" evaluation program. All it installed was a help file, so I couldn't use it.

>Any other ideas? Or should I just recreate the table from scratch and then rerun my insert program but obviously don't insert as many records this time.
