You are right. After removing the icons it does run much faster. I think the problem is that I am calling a get icon function for each file.. This then extracts the icon for the file type. Problem is if I have a directory with 2000 files that are of 3 types say .fpt,.dbf,.cdx it still has to run the extract function 2000 times. So I will need to retool a bit to make this work faster with the icons displayed..or I can just use a default Icon for all files.
