The problem occurs with the Transparent BackStyle, not neccessarily with tweaking the BMP. It's just that you have to set the BackStyle to Transparent to get the see-through BMP with tweaked white.
It may be pretty rare, but I ran into this one today:

This could be because the image is being stretched because when I change the Stretch to Clip - 0, it looks OK (just really big :) )
