Great Tamar,
I'll add it to my collection of Whil's complete VFP library
(I own all of his VFP books - his linux stuff he can keep <g>)

I, too (as someone else has mentioned) would like to know how to create a bill of material like structure of a table like this:

parent_id I, child_id,...

and get:

Table
--Top
----wood board
----side trim
--frame
----legs
----braces
----glide assembly
------glied
------t-nut
--drawer
----front
----side
----back
----bottom

etc.

I know how to do a recursive program, but I never could do it with sql alone <s>

Peter
(see you in Tempe)

>>>Hi, all. I'm working on a book about VFP's SQL language. (It'll be available as an e-book from Hentzenwerke this fall.) While most of the book is a detailed look at the individual commands and their components, one chapter (tentatively titled "Frequently Asked Questions") is intended to cover stuff that doesn't fit into that format, but you ought to know about using VFP's SQL.
