>The Gospel is intended to cause division. It is there to seperate the Christians from the world. Christ even says he did not come to bring peace but a sword. People need to be aware that this is no game! If they want to believe the foolish wisdom of men, so be it. God's way is trust in His saving grace for their salvation ANY OTHER WAY leads to destruction. I don't mean to cause any emotional damage - but - if God can use that to open someone's eyes to the truth, then in the end it would be worth it.

One problem with this reasoning is that it is really circular reasoning. What I mean is, you believe that to be saved (or to walk along the True Path, or whatever) you have to believe in Christ and the Bible - because the Bible says so. In other words, you are arguing that you have to believe in the Bible because you believed in the Bible in the first place. If you were brought up as a Muslim or Buddhist, for example, you would come to quite different conclusions. For example, you have to believe in Muhammad and in the Holy Qur'án, because the Holy Qur'án says so.

I think I should take the opportunity to make my own point of view (as a Bahá'í) on this issue quite clear - a point of view which, I suspect, you might not agree with.

God has sent His Messengers from time to time, to guide humanity. These Messengers have brought us God's teachings, and Holy Books. One of these Messengers was Jesus Christ. Others include Buddha, Krishna, Abraham, Moses, Muhammad, the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh.

All of them really bring a single message. Each of these divine teachers had the role of educating mankind - and of preparing them for the next one. (For example, see John 16:12).

Any discrepancies between the "different religions" - which are really only one religion - can be explained: (a) by differences in the needs of the times (the Medicine which mankind needs today isn't necessarily the same Medicine it needed 2000 or 5000 years ago), and (b) by mis-interpretations introduced by the believers - not sanctioned by the original Messenger.
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
