We have a standalone application created originally in VFP 6.0 that simply looks in a particular directory for a file, and if it exists, copies the file to another directory. It is an endless loop 'watchdog' type of program.

It ran fine on the Windows 2000 server machine. We recently recompiled it with VFP 9.0, and it continued to work fine.

We moved it a couple of days ago to a simple Windows XP machine, running XP SP2 Professional with 2.66 GHz and 256 RAM; suddenly, when I check in the Windows task manager, it is taking up 98% of CPU! I tried unloading everything else, but it's still taking up over 90% of CPU! I tried some of our other watchdog programs, and they do the same thing!! What's going on?
