Not that I can help you with your problem, but for what you are doing you can re-code in VFP 9 so you do not need the endless loop at all. For doing this, you can bind the windows event generated when there is a new file in a folder to a particular code in your application. For reading about this, and a much better explanation, open "Task Pane Manager" -> "Solution Samples" -> "Binding to Windows Message events" -> "File/Folder Shell Events"
