Is this an active instance or one that you have tried to exit and it got stucked?

>We have a standalone application created originally in VFP 6.0 that simply looks in a particular directory for a file, and if it exists, copies the file to another directory. It is an endless loop 'watchdog' type of program.

>It ran fine on the Windows 2000 server machine. We recently recompiled it with VFP 9.0, and it continued to work fine.

>We moved it a couple of days ago to a simple Windows XP machine, running XP SP2 Professional with 2.66 GHz and 256 RAM; suddenly, when I check in the Windows task manager, it is taking up 98% of CPU! I tried unloading everything else, but it's still taking up over 90% of CPU! I tried some of our other watchdog programs, and they do the same thing!! What's going on?
