What you are suggesting is what I am actually doing. The user friendly fields are joined to the master table but are not selected as updatable fields in the view. Steve is suggesting a different approach, and I am interested in anyone's thoughts about the strength's and weaknessnesses of either approach.

>PMFJI, but you do not have to update every field in a multiple-table view. Just make sure the fields from the lookup tables are not checked as updateable.
