I don't know how you would ever get 'proof' other than editorials, opinions, etc. The general consensus (even among Democrats) is that all newspapers in the U.S. lean to the liberal as well as the other forms of media. The first link is an actual survey that you should find interesting. It reflects the public's opinion on the media:
