I had many cases for one application when on some PCs the same OCX was manually registered from different locations (i.e. one time from, say, C:\myapp, another from C:\winnt\system32). I found that, unless I unregister it first from all used locations, it did not work properly. And MSCOMCTL is a common OCX that can be installed by different applications.
