>>Interesting blogg. Can you tell if there is a difference between (eastern) europe and north america in terms of usage of VFP ??

>Percentage of VFP developers who program and use VFP as their primary tool is higher in Romania, but not in all eastern European countries. Some countries you won't find but a couple of VFP programmers. Romania is like 7-8%, while in general in the U.S. it is around 1-2% or so (developers who use VFP as their primary tool). But due to piracy, there is no way to know accurate numbers of usage.
OTOH piracy made Windows so popular in Turkey. Otherwise people would be using nonMS products I think. Now even including home users a high percentage of all windows installations are legal. As per VFP AFAIK most of them are now legal.
VFP programmers still face another problem besides affording the high price. That's whenever a new version comes out they fight hard to import it. MS Turkey is not very helpfull in that respect but I think it's same for many nonUS MS offices (or even might be for US). It's even a surprise to find someone at local MS Office that who knows VFP is an MS product.
I wish thousands pirated VFP in Turkey. If they did in 1-2 years at least 50% of them would be legal users. Now they're not paying to something they don't know ever existed or what it is about. Not having anything (except few forums) in Turkish is another problem.
I see Soykan couldn't convince you to visit Turkey:)
