Greetings,
I have used Doc-2-Help and RoboHelp95; both seem to do the job well. Depending upon your platform (Win 3.x or Win95) each has advantages and disadvantages. A couple of years ago we selected Doc-2-Help (for Win 3.x) because of reviews which claimed it to be the best help compiler for the time. It was easy to use and did the job. It had some quirky problems related to index creation which we found work-arounds for. For the most part, Doc-2-Help did what we expected it to do. Last year at this time, we selected RoboHelp95. Mostly, because it was the only true Win95 help compiler available. I am very happy with the RoboHelp95 interface to MS Word. It makes help file creation very easy. A command button in RoboHelp95 replaces a two or three step operation to perform tasks such as modification of indexes. I am sold on RoboHelp95. I did not check out the older version of RoboHelp for Win 3.x. It came as a free-bee when I bought RoboHelp95. Doc-to-Help is a WexTech product and RoboHelp is a Blue Sky product. U may want to investigate them further, they both should have web sites (doesn't everyone). So, HtwH. Steve
