I don't think we complain about America's oil/gas consumption.

We do complain about the smog in our air that has major origins in the U.S.. Acid rain was complained about similarly.

Like you, I believe most Canadians would like to see some serious effort towards eliminating the need for oil/gas.

A while back I read an article that said the world had crossed the point where oil/gas replacements could be developed/implemented (widely) in time for the oil/gas to run out.

>I agree. In fact many countries are always chastising the U.S. for their oil consumption. I say we no longer use oil or gas. That should be our goal over the next 10 years. Canadians are often complaining about U.S. oil consumption just like the Europeans. I wonder how Canadians would feel if tomorrow the U.S. no longer needed oil or gas? After all, Canada, not Iraq nor Saudi Arabia, is the largest supplier of oil and gas to the United States. It would certainly make the environmentalists happy, but it would also seriously affect the economy. I'm all for it. I would love to no longer be reliant on gas and oil for energy.

>>My sympathy and prayers to all those affected. Our daughter is going to London at the end of the month to study Shakespeare at a college in the northern part of the city. Frightening!

>>I remember reading a book by Mao Tse-tung which he wrote in the 1930’s. One concept was, “As long as there is one guerilla there is war”! Equate that to terrorists! It only takes one to destroy the lives of many.
>>
>>I have been advocating independence from oil for the world. We can spend 300 billion dollars in Iraq but we have spent little for alternative fuel sources.
>>
>>Remove the dependency upon oil for the world economy and the terrorists will be driven back into the desert. They will not have time or money to consider how to destroy the world. Let them play in the sand.
