Why do you want to put SCREEN = OFF in the program code?

I went to a lot of trouble to give you a detailed answer as to how to get what you wanted to work, just to get blown off by a a response that you're not satisfied with it. Perhaps I'm just wasting my time by trying to help you.

OTOH, if you'll tell me what it is you wish to accomplish by putting SCREEN=OFF in the program code, then I'll try to tell you how to accomplish that. Otherwise you can put "_screen.visible = .f." which is the equivalent of SCREEN=OFF, except that it will still flash the FoxPro screen briefly.

Additionally, it's not a good idea to give novice users access to your CONFIG.FPW file since they can potentially disable your system completely by changing and/or corrupting the file in unpredictable ways.
