In all fairness though, the message is 'believe', not 'pretend to believe'. If you've been following this, my feelings about it should be pretty clear by now, but I don't think anything is gained by morphing 'say it' into 'believe it'.

>I never said you said it. I said the "I Believe and am saved" Christians believe that. NO amount of twisting will change it. I have people here at work who preach to me the same rot.
>Believe and your saved. Doesn't matter what you do, how you live your life, etc, just believe.

>>>>Didn't you leave out part of my quote - of course you did. I stated that we do not believe that we can live our lives any way we'd like. A Christian will strive to please God in all he does.
>>>
>>>
>>>Well let's see. How about I don't want to be a Christian right away. I want to live a good sinful, manly life full of wine, women, and song. After I have cheated and screwed everyone and everybody I know, have made millions on the suffering of others and back-stabbed who I felt like, all I have to do, according to the "I Believe and am saved" Christians is to say it.
>>>
>>>Once you say it, your prior sins are forgiven and you are assured your place in heaven, even if you were a Christian for 5 minutes. How can you believe that poppycock?
>>
>>That is poppycock.
>>
>>I never said all you have to do is "say it." If you did all those things and the Lord spared your life long enough and was merciful in allowing you the opportunity to truly believe in the work of Christ to save you just before your death then - yes - you would be saved from Hell. The thief on the cross next to Jesus is an example of that.
>>
>>You have to be careful with that sort of mentality however - for you never know what hour your life will be required of you...
