Sorry about the late response. In this case there is no way to keep the EXIF data unless VFP changes the way it hooks into GDI+ and after conversing with the development team, I don't see it happening. Also, since this is XP and the current version of GDI+ was patched to close a security hole, there's no way to use an earlier version. In this case the EXIF data is not really useful anyway. I ended up using a combination of VFP and a 3rd party command line tool to update over 12,000 files and now I don't have to listen to the client whine that I need to fix my program...
