Hi,

I'm having a problem importing data from a dbaseIII file into sql server 2000 and/or access.

When I attempt to import the data in either of the above, I get the following error message: "The search key was not found in any record".

I have tried to update the jet driver to the latest version to no avail.

In Access, I can't import the table but if I LINK it into an access database and look at it, there are records where all the fields show up with "#Deleted" in them even though those records are NOT deleted.

I tried deleting those records with vfp and packing the table and the problem goes away.

VFP has no problem at all reading the data (with and without the supposedly corrupted records) and writing it to a sql server table, but we want to just import the data directly into sql from the dbf, without using vfp as a bridge, and seem to be hitting a brickwall with this.

Now, not all of the dbf's I'm trying to import give me this problem, and by browsing through the ones that do, I can't find what might be the cause. Nothing special about the contents of those records.

Does anyone have any ideas of what might be the problem or where to even begin looking? Any tool available that might help?

Thanks!

Alex
