>>Craig,

>>I would love to discuss this idea with you because our user group (The Greater Cleveland PC User's Group FoxPro SIG) is planning on giving a similar presentation to Solution Providers. As a matter of fact, we had our monthly meeting on Tuesday and need to come up with ways to "wow" the Solution Providers. One thing we discussed we don't want to do is have a product comparison. I like your positive approach.
>>
>>I'm sure you've seen Menacham's what's VFP mean to you question. We all know we love the product. My question is how do we get the message of what a great product VFP is out into the general public? It seems like MS has left it up to us to do the marketing, and I say let's go for it!

>>It was nice meeting you at DevCon, even though it was briefly.

>>>I can't say that we've had an impact on the use of VFP, but we are planning some things. Later this year, in conjunction with Microsoft, we will give a presentation to Solution Providers. These are people that use mainly VB & Access. I'm approaching it as "How VFP can improve your applications".

>I have posted a question to Susan Graham regarding getting MS to send out an email to all their known addresses in the Memphis area announcing that our user group will be demonstrating VFP6 at the next meeting and also asked her for some additional copies to give away as door prizes. She said it would be ok for me to give away my one copy (from Devcon) but I'd have to contact Robert Green to do anything else. What are your thoughts? I think several of us should email Robert to get this moving. The lure of the beta (which is already old) would be another big plus for VFP exposure.

John,

I saw that posting. Truthfully, there is no way that Microsoft can get the mailing done in that short of time. I've had them do mailings before. It takes a few months to get it done. I think I'll work with them on doing one for the fall, when VFP 6.0 is released. Have you talked to Angela Regan about doing the mailing?
