Mileage (or klicks here in Canada). With gas, I get about 450 Kilometres (about 280 miles) to a tank. With Diesel, I get slightly more than double that.

Right now Diesel is slightly more expensive than gas here in Toronto, but since I only have to fuel up half as often with diesel, it's way cheaper overall.

The only problem with diesel is pickup. The acceleration is better with gas, but unless you're the type who needs to peel away from the light faster than everybody else, it's not much of an issue.
