I had installation issues, but ones of a different sort than the one you are experiencing.

Unfortunately this is one of the problems with Betas and CTPs - the installation routines are not very polished. What I would do is search the SQL2005 communities (newsgroups / microsoft developer forums) for the exact error. There are a lot of people previewing the software and a lot of real-world information available on it.
