I see that debated all the time. Jehovah's Witnesses interprest that to be them (or some of the 144,000 will be them), some scholars interpret that to be a symbolic number only, others that only Jews are in the 144,000, and others that the number includes gentiles. I'm not positive myself since it can be interpretated many ways. Still, GOD meant gentiles I think when he stated that many shall come from the east and the west and shall sit down with Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. So if 144,000 is the total number literally, then some of them will be gentiles. Yet if 144,000 is to be taken literally, then Israelites is literal too and then that would exclude Abraham, Isacc, and I think Jacob who were never of the Israel tribe and that is not possible because Jesus stated that those three will be in the kingdom of heaven. It is hard to interpret indeed...
