Hi Hank,

It's not that .NET doesn't have the pieces it needs; it's that it hasn't had 20 years to mature, like VFP, and so in many ways it's about as efficient as using Scrimage with @..GET statements (by which I intentionally date myself <s>, because that's about where I see .Net in terms of being an efficient development tool). But the pieces are definitely there.

I can't believe that they (MS) did'nt think about that. No escuses for that. There should be just one framework installed.

I agree with you that 20 years to mature gives very good development environments.

But I'mm surprised that .Net 1.0 missed so many things compared to what we'll see in VS.Net 2005

It's not like those are things that only appeared in the last couple of years because of the evolution of IT overall. In my mind VS.Net 2005 should've been version 1.

I don't say that to start another rumble by the .Net LOVERS <g>

It's just that whatever I see at our user's group meeting I rarely say oooh and ahhh.
