>>No. That's a copout. Either he's all powerful or he's not. 10 plagues?

>You might say God gave Pharoah several chances to change his mind. :-) Similarly, they say Jesus could have called 10,000 angels to set him free while on the cross. Ultimately, God acts as he does because of a purpose. It cannot always be easily seen.

>Incidentally, there's alot of symbolism which points to Christ in the tenth plague. Those whose firstborn were not killed were spared because a "passover lamb" was sacrificed and the blood was put on the door to indicate the house was to be "passed over" by the death angel. In the New Testament, Christ became the passover lamb to give eternal life to those who accept Him (His blood covers our sins). The fact that Christians observe Easter at the same time as Jewish Passover is no accident. Jesus was crucified during Passover.

>>Excuse my ignorance of your religion. I'm confused. I thought it was monotheistic, you know, one God?
>>I thought Jesus was the son of God. Are you saying two gods then? So are you saying it was polytheistic all along?

>Christians believe God is a "Trinity." This means God in 3 persons (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). It is the same God. No, I don't understand it too much beyond that. Incidentally, you won't find the word Trinity in the Bible -- its just a word devised for discussion of the concept (kinda like the names that were developed for design patterns in software development). In the Bible, you'll find scripture where Jesus said, "I and the Father are one." In Genesis, God said "Let us make man in our image." And so forth.

I have a copy of the Catholic Bible, which is a very large book. In the back of the book there is a definition of the Blessed Trinity. The author goes on for many paragraphs attempting to explain the meaning of the Trinity and then suddenly states, ”Never the less it is impossible for created intelligence to understand the Blessed Trinity”!

Well, that statement led me to wonder, why try to define the Trinity if we humans cannot understand it? I felt let down having read as much as I did only to be told there is no comprehensible answer.
